Born from the collaboration of a team of experts at Puig, Michael Edwards Fragrances of the World and a digital alchemist, Bestiario a new fragrance research tool was launched in December 2022: Wikiparfum.
Under the leadership of Puig’s Camila Thomas Verdaguer, the team devised clever algorithms allowing you to search fine fragrances worldwide. With around 22,000 perfumes from 1,000 brands, this fragrance encyclopaedia allows you to search for scents in as many as seven different ways: olfactive notes, scent descriptors, textures or forms, moods and emotions, seasons, colours and origin.
Alternatively, you can enter the name of your favourite fragrances and the system will suggest new perfumes to try. Such is the efficiency of the database that it will also provide you with the name of the perfumer, a list of the key ingredients, the price point, and the classification according to the Fragrances of the World. Furthermore, each of these attributes can be delved into to discover the origin and history of fragrance, and perfumers’ biographies.
As the number of fine fragrances launches increase yearly, such a powerful research tool should prove useful for consumers and fragrance industry members alike.
